Do you have experience of events management? Are you good at building partnerships and managing networks? Do you have excellent organisation and communication skills? Would you like work in a research support environment?

As a member of the Faculty Research Office you will work with the Faculty Impact Manager to provide support for and implement activities that relate to the connection of our research with external organisations.  You will play a key role in organising a range of external and internal events such as the corporate and policy engagement series called Ideas in Practice which involves seminars, workshops and conferences and internal staff support series called Research with Impact events, taking responsibility for leading on these.

The role will provide administrative and communications support within the Faculty Research Office including managing financial budgets, co-ordinating communications and liaising with marketing, planning and implementing social media campaigns, improving systems for managing impact and engagement and database management.

You will represent the Faculty Research Office, working closely with professional staff in the office and other areas of the Faculty and University.  Additional work will involve maintaining data on academic staff expertise, liaising with staff in the academic divisions, and acting as an advisory contact for new opportunities that arise such as research collaboration or external funding.

You will have experience of working in a research support environment and some commercial experience involving business engagement.  The focus of your role will be on organising events, promoting the impact agenda and supporting a wide range of initiatives/projects that relate to the impact and engagement strategies of the Faculty – these will vary from time to time depending on where support is required and strategic priorities.  During the forthcoming year you will support the delivery of an international academic conference being hosted by the business school.

Working with the Faculty Research Impact Manager you will be required to be self-directing, collaborating closely with all members of the Faculty Research Office team and staff from other areas. In particular, you will liaise with the Faculty Marketing team and communications staff in the Research Office to ensure an excellent and consistent approach to promoting the research of Leeds University Business School.
