Are you a talented and creative researcher looking for your next challenge?

Changes in leaf absorption spectra in response to environmental stress hold information about leaf internal processes. Understanding these processes is important in determining how plants will perform in a warming climate, particularly in the tropics. Over the past few years we have developed a tool to measure leaf absorption spectra continuously and simultaneously with gas exchange. The existing prototype is sturdy and thus not ideal for routine application. The purpose of this fellowship is to build a small, hand-held version of this tool which can be used readily in the field. The project will last for 7 months.
