Electronic Design Engineer (Enterprise) (1396121FP)

Your practical experience of electronics design, thorough understanding of set up and use of industry standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) design tools such as Synopsys or Cadence will be crucial to achieving success in this pivotal role.  You will be responsible for designing and implementing a ‘System on Chip’ (SoC) using Arm based IP by working with peers from Arm and the world renowned Universities in Electronic Design.

As principal designer for SoC it is essential you are able to evidence experience of software and hardware ability along with experience to undertake simulations, design and all steps needed to ensure SoC systems implementation and testing including the development of any necessary test boards, firmware and software. You should have practical experience of electronics design, thorough understanding of set up and use of industry standard EDA design tools and be able to show demonstrable examples of your work on FPGA or ASIC designs.

It is essential you have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Electronic Design along with skills in System Verilog/Verilog/VHD.

Experience of implementation of a SoC utilising IP from Arm including the Arm CPUs and Mali GPU, interconnect, peripherals and subsystems or similar but alternative IP blocks as a basis for a custom SoC and knowledge of one or more of the following areas, 1) mixed signal SoC combining analogue and digital functions with processing power from an embedded microcontroller, 2) multi-core systems with intersystem communication, 3) high speed communications device implementation would be highly desirable.
