About the role 

Be part of a new and exciting Student Recruitment, Admissions and Partnerships team at Staffordshire University! As key leader within a core central service, you will be responsible for ensuring the strategic development and effective operational delivery of Staffordshire University’s relationships between FE college partners and the University, in terms of supporting students to successfully progress to HE, therefore supporting Staffordshire University in its aims commitment to widening participation, raising aspiration and delivering social mobility.

The role holder will work collaboratively with colleagues in academic Schools and Institutes as well as the central Academic Development and Schools’ Liaison teams to deliver University priorities for transitions between further education and the University. This role will also support in delivering the requirements of the Access and Participation Plan commitments from 2023 of raising pre-18 attainment and delivering successful outcomes for all students accessing University.

The role holder will be responsible for managing specific transition projects’ delivery, developing a strategic portfolio of activity, planning and co-ordinating events to support our FE-HE relationships including co-curriculum, staff development, assessment strategy and student experience days to support the transition of students from FE to HE, evaluating these activities for impact and reporting to the Executive Director of Student Recruitment, Head of Post-16 Partnerships and the Director of Learning and Teaching.

The role holder will have considerable experience of widening access, participation and outreach activity for the enhancement of student recruitment. As well as being a persuasive communicator with excellent presentation skills, the role holder will have the ability to build and maintain effective college-University relationships. 

You will have a keen interest in sector level developments and up to date knowledge and experience of higher education sector policy and processes for FE-HE partnerships.

Experience of leading and managing diverse teams to deliver whole University strategic projects is a key aspect of the role.
