The Role:

Electrical Project Engineer

As the Electrical Project Engineer, you will work alongside the Associate Director of Campus Development & Strategy in delivering strategical leadership for all historical and future projects. This is a permanent full time position where someone can create real value in themselves and become an integral part of the Infrastructure Services Directorate.

£38,205 - £54,263 (Negotiable D.O.E), 39 days holiday, up to 21% pension, up to £10,000 relocation package and flexible & hybrid working

Duties:

Responsible for the management, leadership, development and delivery of the engineering design, design verification, delivery, quality assurance and commissioning function within the Campus Development Team.        Contribute to the development, delivery, maintenance and regular update of the University’s condition survey and associated backlog maintenance registers annually and prepare business case submissions for capital funding in support of the development of programmes of investment.Develop and deliver engineering designs and specifications for small to medium engineering system, infrastructure and component installations ensuring compliance with legislation, design guidance, best practice and University specifications and requirements.Ensure project & programme objectives are clear and understood within the University and external project teams, including compliance with strategy, standards, environmental sustainability mandate and project constraints.Liaise with internal and external project design teams to develop and deliver the engineering strategy for newly built and/or refurbished assets and infrastructure across campus ensuring seamless alignment with the University’s strategies, technical standards and standardisation agenda.Identify and coordinate key interfaces between design team consultants and/or contractors.

Required:

A recognised professional qualification, for example engineering or building services related, or equivalent qualification and/or experience across multi-disciplines

A time served electrician or mechanical trade with associated qualifications.

Excellent understanding and knowledge of engineering principles and practical engineering and construction methodologies in addition to a strong track record in managing technical information on projects.
