The 7th Eurasian Higher Education Leaders Forum 2018 will be held on June 7-8, 2018 at Nazarbayev University (Astana, Kazakhstan). The theme of this year’s Forum is ‘Innovating Higher Education in the Age of Disruption’. This annual event will reframe the technological and social changes which simply cannot be ignored including intense debates on the future of higher education, i.e. whether higher education institution should develop skills for the labor market or primarily focus on generating and dissemination new knowledge. This fundamental debate leads questions about curriculum design, modalities of how degrees are awarded (e.g. stacked?), what constitutes credit bearing courses; but also emerging new approaches to teaching of MOOCs and used for lifelong learning. It is obvious that disruption is upon us and we have to adjust. The Forum aims to unite all stakeholders in education by exchanging viewpoints and opinions and by participating in lively discussion of the technical and societal changes which face higher education leaders around the world.
Higher education leaders, faculty members, scholars, government bodies, employers, education associations and organizations will share and debate their ideas, expertise and experience in changing their institutions to cope with disruption.
