Regenerative medicine is defined as “emerging interdisciplinary field of research and clinical applications focused on the repair, replacement, or regeneration of cells, tissues, or organs to restore impaired function resulting from any cause. Regenerative medicine and tissue engineering have been constantly developing of late due to the major progress in cell and organ transplantation, as well as advances in materials science and engineering. Regenerative medicine is an alternative way to organ transplantation.Tissue engineering is a multidisciplinary, translational science that aims to produce new tissues for restoring the functionality of organs and tissues impaired or damaged by disease and trauma.Combinations of stem cell therapy and nanotechnology in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering have achieved significant advances. The course aims to know and recognize basic knowledge of regenerative medicine, stem cells, nanotechnology and tissue engineering.
