The Interstellar Shocks School is a one-week session in the Physics school of Les Houches. Its goal is to provide a comprehensive view of the physics and chemistry of interstellar shocks and detailed presentation of the multiple impacts they have on their close environments (i.e. energetics, star formation, cosmic ray acceleration). The session will include lectures dedicated to the physical, thermal, and chemical processes at play in shocks, observations of shocks in galactic and extragalactic sources, as well as state-of-the-art models, and lab experiments. Those lectures will be completed with tutorial and hands-on sessions so that all participants can get familiar with publicly available codes simulating the propagation of interstellar shock waves.
