Our industry`s reliance on extracting oil and gas from fractured reservoirs will continue to grow. The characterization and prediction of these fractured reservoirs are very challenging. Managing such reservoirs requires the development of robust models that can handle both fracture and matrix systems for reservoir development and production optimization. These models require the integration of 1D, 2D, and 3D data from many different disciplines. Fractured reservoir challenges will be addressed in this workshop, which will emphasize and showcase the best practice from applied geology, geophysics, and petroleum engineering aspects for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. The workshop will also attempt to highlight a number of recent technological developments in the geosciences and engineering resulting in the most effective reservoir management decisions. The role of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) in building models will also be covered during the workshop.
