The Glycobiology GRS is a small group setting that fosters open discussion of innovative glycobiology research through formal presentation and social interaction. The seminar will include three scientific session and two poster sessions. The seminar will highlight recent progress in understanding the functional role of glycans and glycoconjugates in a range of areas including (although not limited to): cell signaling, host-pathogen interactions, immune regulation, development, genetic disease, neurobiology and cancer. Emerging methodologies for glycan synthesis, structural glycan analysis and glyco-informatics will also be discussed. The seminar will conclude with a career panel session during which mentors at various stages of their careers will share experiences and answer questions from trainees focused on professional development and other topics.
Topics: Mapping the Functional Glycome in Health and Disease
