About the role

Developing and improving organisational culture is a key foundation for the future ambitions of the University. Whether this is equity, diversity, listening and engaging with staff, enabling people to bring their whole self to work to achieve their potential, creating a culture where people can thrive is at the heart of our University community.

We are reviewing the HR operating model and expect it to change considerably in the next few years to offer higher-value services to the University. At the heart of this role today, we expect to see:

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, covering our Charters/Awards, EIAs, ED&I training and specialist advice; Staff Listening, covering surveys and employee engagement;Organisational culture, covering issues such as hybrid working, staff facilities;Caring Services, such as the nursery and dental.

The essence of this role is to synergistically combine areas where specialist expertise is necessary, but also an ability to lead change and turn strategy into delivery, working with others. This role has a strong focus across both staff and student experience. While sitting in HR, the role will work closely with other senior leaders where there is synergy between staff and student services.

About you 

The ideal candidate will have a combination of specialist expertise, an ability to lead and deliver change and policy development, with the empathy to handle complex organisational and cultural dilemmas.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours) permanent basis. We are open to discussing other working patterns.
