About the role

The landscaping team at University of Bath have an assistant groundsperson vacancy. For full details view the job description below.

This varied role will include all aspects of grounds maintenance including mowing, watering, and fertilizing lawns, planting, trimming, mulching and fertilizing flowers, shrubs and trees. Cleaning and painting benches, poles and signs are also included in the responsibilities. In addition, the role will ensure that the provision of landscaping services is done in line with our landscape environmental management plan (LEMP), considering the environmental and community impact of all works carried out..

Examples of machinery used in the role include:

Tractors with implements and trailers.4 X 4 Vehicles /pickups/vans.Ride on Mowers – Pedestrian mowers and machinery.

Hours of work: 36.5 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:30 hours to 15.45, Friday 07.30 hours to 14.45. Occasional weekend work may be required as a part of a team rota.

A uniform and protective clothing and footwear will be provided and must be worn. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and training is provided

About you

You will have:

A solid understanding of horticultural methods and a passion for working as part of a team.Previous experience in landscaping (preferable) and a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.The ability to lift and carry reasonable weights and the flexibility to work outdoors in all seasons.A full UK driving licence and hands-on experience operating horticultural vehicles and machinery.Ideally, an NVQ, GMA, or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in groundsmanship.Further information
