We are looking for an Operations Officer to join us in the Observatory for Mathematical Education. We work with hundreds of primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities throughout England where we are surveying thousands of students and their teachers for up to 7 years.  Our pioneering research aims to understand and improve the experiences and outcomes for all children and young people learning maths. 

As an Operations Officer in the Observatory operations team, you will work flexibly across a range of processes and activities, to support the smooth operation of procurement, finances, communications, interview transcription, events, record keeping, and leadership team support.

You will:

Provide administrative and operational support for procurement-related processes.Provide administrative support for finance-related processes.Check, edit, and file the transcriptions of interviews.Provide administrative and operational support for events including booking venues and catering, sending invitations and tracking responses, and supporting in person at the event. Support the leadership team, with tasks including organising meetings, booking travel, and disseminating information.Provide secretarial support to relevant meetings.Contribute towards continuous improvement work in the Observatory Operations Team and wider School.

You will be someone who can work in a busy and varied role and who enjoys collaborating with others. You will have A-levels or equivalent, or proven work experience in a relevant comparable role and good IT, communication, teamwork, and time management skills. You will be able to prioritise and manage your own workload, knowing that support is available whenever you need it.

This role is based on Jubilee Campus in Nottingham, with the option of working from home approximately one day per week. This is a fixed term position, available until 17 October 2028. Further funding is expected to extend this role and all others in the Observatory to October 2033. The hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) or part-time (minimum 27 hours/week).
