About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Technician for the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, based at the Sutton Bonington Campus. The person appointed will work as part of a team supporting the teaching activities of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science by ensuring that live animal/clinical based, dissection and laboratory practical classes are fully provided for through the provision of materials, advice, and operational support. The person appointed will support the running of the school’s animal facilities and provide animal handling expertise.
About you
Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 A levels in relevant subjects, or equivalent vocational qualifications (NVQ, City & Guild), plus some experience in a relevant technical/scientific role. Technical knowledge and understanding of basic principles of animal biology/anatomy, along with animal husbandry and handling experience in working with a wide range small and large animals. The post will require initiative, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and good communication skills. The successful candidate will take a positive and flexible approach to work in order to deal with a variety of requests and tasks.

This role is a fixed term, full time position (36.25 hours) for 12 months maternity leave cover.
