This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.

About the role – The Research Library Advisor administrates funding for gold open access journal articles published by University of Nottingham researchers. Responsibilities include assessing funding applications against open access policies and eligibility criteria, managing approval workflows on internal and external dashboards, raising purchase orders and processing invoices through the University’s finance system. The role also monitors activity, tracks payments and collates dashboard data to inform decision making. An important part of the RLA role is giving clear guidance and updates to researchers on their article and any applicable open access requirements.

About the team- This role is one of two Research Library Advisors within the Libraries Research Support Team. Research Support offers practical guidance and training to help researchers plan, publish, share and preserve their research. We know that having colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds is key to a supportive workplace and to improve our services. We are particularly keen to receive applications from those who are currently underrepresented in Libraries in the UK, such as racially minoritised people. 

About you- This role requires someone who understands the academic publishing landscape and open access policies of UK research funders. You will be expected to show you can undertake finance tasks with care and attention to detail. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
