We are looking for an outstanding candidate to provide operational leadership and management to support the running of the Faculty of Engineering. The role holder will report to the Faculty Senior Operations Manager and work alongside them to lead the Faculty Operations team, developing and delivering an optimal service to the Faculty.
Also working alongside senior leaders within the Faculty and Heads of Department, the role holder will support the management of budgetary, resource and operational planning, process monitoring and on-going improvements to the service offered by the Operations Team. This is a new team, less than a year old, and the successful candidate will lead a team of approx. 10 employees. Being able to build these relationships and understand the work performed throughout the team will be a key asset, as well as evaluating current processes and challenging the status quo, and developing the team’s approach and output.
The role holder will use their initiative daily to overcome day-to-day challenges, whilst keeping the team’s objectives in mind when making decisions. With other project work layered on top, this role will engage multiple different skills. Examples of projects that are currently planned are: improvements to our induction processes, wholesale process automation and accurate forecasting of future external contributors to our Architecture and Built Environment department.
