Description :

We are undertaking a technical revamp of our website and are looking for three software engineers to join us to help with the transformation. This is an exciting time to be joining the University of Southampton as we are looking to rebuild, consolidate and rearchitect large parts of our sites to meet best practices for technical design, content and accessibility.

About the Role

These roles will work across our website estate looking to consolidate platforms as well as improving technical debt, design and reliability. We are looking for a range of technical skill sets from Linux and cloud platforms experience through to frontend and dedicated Drupal and PHP development. If you have any or all of these then this role may be for you.

What you’ll do

· Work with the team to define, analyse and resolve technical backlog

· Develop static and data driven solutions to improve and expand the current offerings on the website

· Proactively work with our content design and user experience team to define how the website should function

· Develop tests and documentation for everything you do

What you’ll bring

· Strong experience of at least one of the following:

. Drupal 10 software backend and frontend development

.  Frontend development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ideally Vue.js

.  Linux and Azure platform management

· The ability to present your ideas and your specialist area, to a wide and potentially non-technical audience

We don’t expect one person will have all of the skills above, however we will be looking for a team, including our current developers, which covers all of these.
