We’re seeking a highly organised, proactive individual to provide exceptional support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. The position is offered as either a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant role, depending on the skills and experience you bring.

About the role

As a Personal Assistant, you will maximise the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s time through efficient diary management, communication with key contacts, organising travel and visits, supporting meetings and commissioning briefing papers.

At the higher Executive Assistant level, you will have additional responsibilities including drafting reports, briefing materials and presentations.

This is a key role, working at the heart of the institution, to ensure that the Deputy Vice-Chancellor can focus on key strategic priorities.  

Key responsibilities

Managing a complex and fast-moving diary, coordinating meetings and engagementsActing as the main point of contact for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, managing incoming and outgoing correspondenceEnsuring the Deputy Vice-Chancellor has the necessary briefing documents for all meetings and eventsActing as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholdersOrganising travel, accommodation, and providing detailed itinerariesSupporting meetings through agenda preparation, minute-taking, and action trackingHandling confidential and sensitive information with professionalismAnticipating needs and proactively resolving issues before they ariseAbout you

You should be:

exceptionally organised with meticulous attention to detail;a confident communicator who builds strong working relationships;skilled at prioritising competing demands in a fast-moving environment;proficient in Microsoft Office;discreet, reliable, and experienced in handling sensitive information;a proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and stays one step ahead.Further information

Due to the face-to-face nature of the work, this is predominantly an office-based role. Hybrid working is available by negotiation, taking into account the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s requirements.

Salary: £31,236 to £37,694 (Personal Assistant) or £38,784, rising to £46,049 (Executive Assistant)
