About the role/team:

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking people, who have a keen eye for detail and excellent customer service skills who will take pride in their work and who enjoy working in a fast-paced catering environment.

Working within a Halls of Residence Catering Unit at University Park, you will be responsible for serving customers, using our tills and supporting with general cleaning within the area where you work to include working within the dishwash/potwash area and adhering to all food safety and health and safety regulations, standards, policies, procedures and codes of practice.

As a member of our team, you will have a positive approach and be a colleague that the team look forward to working with and building strong relationships with others to accomplish tasks and shared goals. You will have an eye for detail and aim to deliver the exceptional operational standards required particularly at busy service times.

Available Positions:

Weekend Split Shift- Hours of work 10 hours per week (2 days, mainly Saturday and Sunday) working between the hours 11.00am-1.30pm and 5.00pm-7.30pm for 30.6 or 34 working weeks of the year on a permanent fractional contract. Work rota calendar attached/Flexibility will be required – Please note both shifts are required to be worked both days Saturday and Sunday.

Monday to Friday Dinner: Hours of work 15 hours per week (5 days/shifts, mainly Monday to Friday) working between the hours 5.00pm - 8.00pm for 30.6 working weeks of the year on a permanent fractional contract. Work rota calendar attached/Flexibility will be required.

All staff at employed at Levels 1-3 will be eligible to claim unsocial hours (hours worked between 10pm and 6am) and weekend working enhancements. This payment will take the form of a 15% uplift for any time worked between 10pm and 6am and any hour(s) worked on a Saturday or Sunday.

Successful candidates for this position will be expected to attend statutory training courses and any refresher training required as part of the role. The department have planned training courses throughout the year and there is an option to attend either during a typical week, Monday to Friday or set weekend dates, Saturday and Sunday, within the year. Further details will be given at the interview.
