Engineering Manager
£46,049 - £58,225 per annum. Salary progression beyond this salary range is subject to performance.
The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1300 people and provide a wide range of services across our UK sites.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with excellent management skills to lead our team of specialist engineers across all University sites. You will be responsible for the day to day planned and reactive maintenance of key engineering services providing technical advice and ensuring the correct standards are achieved at all times. You will lead on and manage condition surveys prioritising works against business risks, analysing data and producing reports for senior managers as required.
The role holder will manage operational budgets of up to £10m ensuring resources are allocated correctly and projects are delivered on time. You will also develop and review policies and procedures and will prepare tender documents for the renewal of key assets ensuring compliance with procurement rules and procedures.
Candidates should hold a professional qualification/relevant degree (Engineering) or a similar discipline plus have hands on experience in a similar or related role or have a proven track record of relevant work experience. You should also have experience and knowledge of engineering contracts and procurement and tendering methods and have experience in leading, motivating and supervising a team of multi skilled and specialist employees in a large multi-site organisation.

This is a permanent post. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week) however job share arrangements may be considered.
