Are you medically qualified and ambitious with an interest in research, lung cancer and technical radiotherapy Do you have experience of working in clinical and or radiation oncology? Do you want to further your career by undertaking an MD thesis in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

In your role as Clinical Research Fellow you will support and undertake research in Lung Cancer Radiotherapy. Your research will focus on identifying whether certain areas of the heart are more sensitive to radiation damage and contribute to early death post treatment. This project is mainly based at the Leeds Cancer Centre and St James’s University of Leeds campus, but is a joint project with the Christie Hospital, University of Manchester.

You will help with data-collection and analysis in this area, including methods development and clinical studies, and contribute to the work of the research group as a whole.  During your employment you will also work towards an MD at the University of Leeds. 

This is an exciting opportunity if you are a clinical oncology/radiation oncology trainee, especially if you are aiming to sub specialise in lung cancer radiotherapy or pursue an academic career.  You will be medically qualified, with MRCP or equivalent and FRCR (clinical oncology) or equivalent, and full GMC registration.
