In 2017 Birmingham Conservatoire and Birmingham School of Acting merged. This was followed by the awarding of the Royal title, shortly after the institution moved to new purpose built facilities, including 5 new performance venues. In celebration, a 16 month opening festival of concerts and events will take place in 2018-2019 alongside ongoing seasonal programmes. Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is now looking for a team of Casual Duty Managers to support the delivery of Conservatoire performances and Eastside Venues programmes. Working closely with and reporting to the Venues Manager, the Casual Duty Managers will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and able to demonstrate a genuine passion for music, acting and the wider performing arts. The Duty Manager will be in responsible for the building during public events, representing RBC and maintaining the reputation of the Conservatoire, whilst simultaneously upholding all the conditions of the premises license. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to gather requirements for all events, to meet the educational and artistic requirements of Conservatoire performances, oversee front of house delivery and support programming. They will demonstrate a clear understanding of the requirements of all aspects of professional performing arts events having gained relevant experience in a similar arts venues or events environment. They will be flexible, organised and self-motivated, with an aptitude for learning new skills quickly; be able to work alone in a busy fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
