Ph.D. position on biological engineering of remote control systems for molecular processes and functional MRI

Our laboratory (westmeyerlab.org) bioengineers next-generation molecular sensors and actuators for non-invasive imaging and remote control of molecular processes across entire organ(isms). We are looking for a motivated Ph.D. student (m/f) for protein engineering of metalloproteins to enable non-invasive imaging via molecular Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and remote actuation via magnetic gradient fields and radiofrequency energy (see for instance https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-04227-3).
