The role will suit a recent graduate of the University, ideally from the Business School, who is keen to support students to be successful on their courses. This post will initially be fixed term for one year, working with staff and students from the School of Business and the wider Faculty of Business, Law and School of Social Sciences. You will work closely with Faculty and School staff on two key areas of responsibility: monitoring,  intervention and support on issues of student progression, retention and study skills and, secondly, all aspects of community building activities within the Faculty.  Candidates should be graduates from a relevant undergraduate programme, be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the degree, have strong organisational and administrative skills as well as an ability to work independently. As a member of the Student Success Team, you will support the Faculty’s retention, progression and achievement strategy.  Working closely with the Business School, you will monitor student attendance, arrange academic support to enhance students’ learning, contribute to the Faculty’s mentoring schemes, and signpost students to support services.   Work as a member of the Faculty’s Student Success Adviser team, reporting directly to its team leader. Maintain a high profile and visible presence across the Faculty to help students to access information and assistance. Provide a proactive signposting service to the University’s student support provision and networks for both students and staff. Maintain a database of the Faculty’s network of Student Ambassadors who provide mentoring and peer tutoring support and assist with monitoring student experience. Coordinate initiatives and activities designed to improve retention and engagement. Produce reports relating to retention, progression, engagement and achievement. Work with the team to promote study skills support. Help and encourage students to access this. Liaise with Course Directors on their induction programmes and work with them to help deliver high standard inductions. Liaise with programme leaders on retention, engagement and achievement matters and support attendance monitoring. Contribute to a range of student and Faculty meetings Work with student representatives and student interns elsewhere in the University on collaborative student experience initiatives. Work alongside the Students’ Union on engagement related activity. Recent degree, preferably from the School of Business Experience in a customer service role. Experience in a student facing role in HE would be particularly relevant A high level of literacy and numeracy Excellent IT skills including record systems, databases, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation packages, preferably Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and in appropriate language with students and colleagues. Able to present confidently to large groups. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to support guide and inform as necessary. Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret data and produce reports. Ability to work on own initiative and manage own time and workload without close supervision.
