The Department of Social and Policy Sciences wishes to recruit an outstanding candidate to a Lectureship in International Development. The Department is a world class centre for international development research and teaching excellence, committed to interdisciplinary and impactful research. 

We are looking to recruit an individual who will make a significant contribution to research and teaching capacity in international development at Bath. The successful candidate will have a track record, commensurate with career stage, of outstanding research, and will be expected to publish in top rated international journals, promote knowledge exchange, sustain a leading research programme, and be active in submitting applications for external funding. The candidate will also be committed to excellence in learning, teaching and the student experience; and make contributions to future pedagogical developments on campus or by distance/blended learning. 

We welcome applications from scholars with research interests in any subfield of international development that enhances our existing portfolio and advances the future of the discipline. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in political economy, sociology/anthropology, and/or development policy and practice. The University of Bath is based in an attractive, single-site campus that facilitates multi-disciplinary research. It is located on the edge of the World Heritage City of Bath and offers the lifestyle advantages of working and living in one of the most beautiful areas in the country.

The post is offered on a full-time basis (36.5 hours/week), and applications from groups which are under-represented in our workforce are particularly welcome.
