We are looking for an experienced, creative and motivated Assistant Grounds Maintenance Manager to work within our award winning Grounds Team at the University of Nottingham.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of up to 40 Grounds staff carrying out all associated duties including making day to day operational decisions, carrying out annual reviews and reviewing and monitoring health and safety practices and procedures implementing changes as required. 

This is a key role which will also include overseeing the daily deployment of machinery across university sites and working with the Senior Grounds Managers to ensure best value is achieved in the procurement of tools, plants and other grounds related materials. The successful candidate will also liaise with other University Departments and external agencies providing technical support where required for a wide range of events including University Graduation and open days. 

Candidates should be qualified to NVQ3 or have a BTEC Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent and have achieved an ILM Team Leaders Award at Level 2. Extensive experience of working in Amenity Horticulture and / or Sports Grounds maintenance and well-developed supervisory skills are also essential for this post

Due to the frequency with which the role holder will drive between university sites a full current driving licence is essential for this role.
