The School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham is inviting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Analytical/Separation Science. This position is supported under the Green Chemicals Beacon of Excellence, part of a landmark investment by the University of Nottingham aimed at increasing collaboration, strengthening networks and partnerships, attracting diverse funding, and raising the reputation of our world-changing research. The Green Chemicals Beacon addresses the challenge of securing the low carbon bio-economy of the future. We are spearheading the transformation of energy-intensive economies into low-carbon societies. We are seeking innovative researchers to work in this multi-disciplinary field, integrating our world-leading expertise in metabolic engineering, process development and sustainable chemistry.

Candidates suited to the role will have the expertise and experience to deliver high quality research aligned to the fields of analytical and materials chemistry.  We welcome applications from candidates with research interests that support the general areas of catalysis and catalyst support, separation science, colloids or adsorbent materials. The research interests of candidates should have a clear pathway to impact on UK and global clean economic growth strategies with strong resonance to current research activity within the School of Chemistry and the Faculty of Engineering.

The successful candidate must also be committed to the development and delivery of innovative curriculum materials to our undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Candidates must have a first degree in in Chemistry or equivalent field strongly aligned with Chemistry and a PhD in a relevant topical area.

This full-time post will be offered on a permanent contract.
