Description :

We are seeking to hire multiple candidates to join the School of Computer Science as part of our ongoing School expansion. Applicants should complement our strengths by contributing new expertise in either: (i) our identified strategic growth areas, such as Embodied Intelligent Systems (Robotics), Cyber Security and/or Computational Intelligence; or (ii) other areas across the whole span of computer science including (but not limited to) our existing research groups. We have opportunities in both Research and Teaching, and Teaching Only posts.

See our recruitment microsite for more information on our school’s vision, research strengths, and role within the university strategy.

You will have a background in devising and sustaining creative and/or collaborative research in your specialist area and across Computer Science; whilst being an experienced teacher and/or researcher who is able to demonstrate how you have developed your knowledge and expertise in an academic environment. A proven track record of outputs through peer reviewed publications, research and teaching innovation or societal impact is essential in order to inform teaching innovation and enhance our School’s impact in research and knowledge exchange.

You will have the ability to deliver a high standard of teaching; including the supervision of practical work, projects and placements. You will also ensure that curriculum design and teaching methods are aligned with the pace of development in Computer Science.

We believe that world-class, multidisciplinary and diverse teams will deliver the highest quality teaching, research and student experience. Our vision as a School is to be highly rated in all areas; for Research and Knowledge Exchange, Education and Student Experience. We are equally committed to creating opportunities for people from groups traditionally under-represented in the field of Computer Science and therefore the ability to relate to and mentor students and colleagues within an increasingly ethnically and gender diverse community is essential.

At the University of Nottingham, we aim to give you all the support you need to nurture your talent, develop and reach your professional and personal career goals. We are committed to providing competitive employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a University employee, you will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and a highly attractive pension scheme.

This is a full time, permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.

You can also address informal enquiries to Professor Jon Garibaldi, Head of School, email; jon.garibaldi@nottingham.ac.uk. Applications sent by email will not be accepted but we look forward to receiving your application online.
