Lecturer in Design (A2731)

Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA) at Lancaster University seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate at lecturer level who is able to contribute to our successful undergraduate BA Design and BSc Marketing and Design programmes, along with our MA in Design Management programme.

The post is open to candidates with research interests in design who can also contribute to contemporary debates in related fields. Applicants with expertise in all relevant areas of Design are invited, and those with research specialisms in Design Management are especially welcomed.

You will develop and deliver teaching for our core modules on our aforementioned undergraduate and postgraduate design programmes. This will involve a mixture of studio and lecture-based teaching with an emphasis on encouraging and enabling independent learning within and outside of the studio. Experience developing and facilitating live briefs with research initiatives and external partners will be an advantage for applicants.

As LICA is committed to research-led teaching, you must be able to demonstrate an established or growing profile of excellent research. Finally, you will be expected to have the commitment and necessary competences to participate in the Department’s everyday administrative functions.

This is a fixed-term full time post for a period of 24 months.
