Part-time, average 3-4 hours per week. We are looking to appoint a Student Chaplaincy Worker on a short-term basis to help support and enhance the work of the Chaplaincy in the University. The successful applicant will be a current undergraduate or postgraduate student of the University and will be responsible for carrying out duties related to one of the specific areas of the Chaplaincy’s work as well as co-operating with two other Student Chaplaincy Workers, Chaplaincy Volunteers, the Chaplaincy Administrator, and the Dean of Chapel. This will involve helping to plan, deliver, and participate in a programme of activities/trips that will help build our community and/or raise awareness of ethical concerns; making opportunities to meet with members of the student body and offering them a listening ear and a friendly face; offering Chaplaincy hospitality to people via other chaplaincy activities and events; building creative and supportive relationships between the Chaplaincy and other significant student groups; and showing some level of commitment to the Chaplaincy’s programme of worship and prayer. The successful applicant should be committed to the University’s Church foundation and its inclusive character. The successful applicant will also have experience of working well in a team, have good organisational abilities, be reliable, be flexible enough to engage in occasional weekend or evening duties, and be at ease with a wide variety of religious outlooks. If you are interested in receiving the full details of this post, they can be e-mailed to you at your request. Alternatively, please do feel that you can pop in and have a word with the Dean of Chapel in his office – you can contact him via the details below to arrange a meeting. Dr. the Revd.
