An opportunity has arisen to join the Acquisitions & Metadata team within Library Services at the University of Brighton.

As one of a team of Resource Assistants you will support the purchasing and receipt of books, ebooks and media items for the University’s campus libraries. You will be responsible for verifying that delivery contents are correct, and for checking and paying our suppliers’ invoices. You will also maintain data in various information systems to ensure that our users can get quick and accurate access to library content; these include the library catalogue, the reading list system and the University’s research repository.

You will need excellent customer service and teamwork skills, and the ability to work accurately. You will have good numeracy, and experience of working with cash handling or invoicing. You will also have a good general IT skills with a keen eye for detail when working with information.

The physical requirements of the job involve moving materials on trolleys, some lifting and carrying, and operating book processing equipment.

This is a fixed-term, part-time position for 12 months.
