We are looking to appoint a Research Associate to work on a Nutrition and Metabolism research project funded by The British Heart Foundation, investigating the effects of various dietary carbohydrates on postprandial lipid metabolism. A focus of the work will also examine sex-differences in lipid metabolism in response to ingestion of dietary carbohydrates.  The successful candidate will be working in the Department for Health on the main campus at the University of Bath, in collaboration with the Oxford Centre for Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolism, at the University of Oxford.

The successful candidate will gain experience in techniques related human metabolism, such as indirect calorimetry, blood biochemistry and stable isotope methods. Supervision will be provided by Dr Javier Gonzalez, Professor Leanne Hodson,Professor James Betts, Professor Dylan Thompson, Dr Francoise Koumanov, and their research teams.

A PhD in a relevant subject such as, Nutrition; Human Metabolism; Human Physiology is essential. Experience of conducting projects of this type would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
