Description :

The University’s Global Strategy 2020 puts students firmly at the heart of the University and makes them partners in their own education. In this role you will make our aspiration real and meaningful, working within the Academic Processes team based within Student Services (Development), and helping to deliver the continued transformation of student facing services.

Senior Managers working within the team provide specialist advice and direction as well as ensuring the delivery of a number of key services. Role holders liaise, influence and negotiate with colleagues to develop effective policy and processes, and resolve problems where the optimal solution may not be immediately apparent.

The team is seeking a motivated, problem-solving person who can see the big picture while still paying attention to the detail and who works to high standards for themselves and others. The primary focus of the Senior Manager (Academic Processes) will initially be the Partnerships, Placement and Mobility area within Academic Processes and Student Services more widely, although on occasion they may also be required to undertake activities in the Student Records and Curriculum areas. You will be responsible for embedding operational changes in a way that demonstrates rigour and effectiveness.  In undertaking this you will consider Student Services and University-wide strategy, stakeholders, critical issues, administrative details, and ensure that there is a strong sense of engagement, future direction, and focus.  You will contribute to the ongoing operation of effective and meaningful cross-University Communities of Practice which include Asia campus colleagues.

This is a permanent role. Hours of work for this post are 36.25 per week, normally 8.45am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday inclusive with a one hour lunch break. Given the nature of the role, there are times when annual leave may be restricted and/or additional working may be required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
