The Faraday Institution has funded a new research consortium on ‘Next generation lithium-ion cathode materials (CATMAT)’ led by Professor Saiful Islam and Dr Ben Morgan in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bath. 

The multidisciplinary team also includes research groups at University College London, Diamond Light Source, and the Universities of Birmingham, Cambridge, Liverpool and Oxford. 

Applications are invited for a Project Manager position to take responsibility for organising and managing the various projects’ activities of the CATMAT project, working closely with Professor Islam, Dr Morgan and the Project Administrator in the Department of Chemistry. You will also need to work closely with work package leads, the Faraday Institution Programme Manager and industry partners to ensure clear communication and alignment of research objectives.

You will be responsible for the management of projects’ budgets, including resource planning and review, liaising with project partners to ensure timely financial and performance reporting. You will also provide guidance as to requirements from the funders and ensuring that the outcomes are delivered on time, as well as being a key contact with the Faraday Institution and EPSRC, leading on grant reporting both internally and externally.

Previous experience in project management of research grants is desirable.

The full-time position is available from January 2020 for up to 44 months.
