•Technician to join an international research consortium in the field of applied epigenetics

The EpiGen Consortium (Southampton) is looking for a Laboratory Technician to contribute to the day-to-day technical operation of the work environment into epigenetic procedures utilising molecular biology techniques. They will support the research team in identification of predictive epigenetic markers in accordance with the project plan, recording and analysing findings, keeping accurate records of all work undertaken and the writing up of protocols for all methods used.
General laboratory housekeeping functions including maintenance of equipment, ordering of laboratory consumables, ensuring reasonable levels of cleanliness and tidiness in the laboratory, whilst maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with Health and Safety requirements. Assist with the training of students in molecular biology techniques.
You will be based at the state-of-the-art Institute of Developmental Sciences Building on the Southampton General Hospital site. The EpiGen Consortium (Southampton) is based at the Human Development and Health Academic Unit within the Faculty of Medicine.
