About the role 

This is a hugely exciting opportunity for a user-focused content designer, who understands the power of words and information to join our pioneering digital transformation programme which is about to enter a new phase.  

You’ll be joining a large agile multi-disciplinary and co-located team dedicated to developing a new user-centred information and support service for many of our users groups - from applying to a course, to finding research collaborations and much more. 

This project is fast-paced and hugely ambitious. We need someone to be accountable for the words that appear in your product area and be the go-to person for creating UX copy that’s compelling, easy to understand and concise. 

What you'll do 

Work closely with user researchers, service designers, product managers, other content designers and marketing teams in creating and applying a strong and consistent tone of voice to all of our products. Build good relationships with stakeholder groups from across the organisation. Create user-centred content using data and evidence ensuring we’re always using the right language at the right time.  Work closely with other tech and UX teams to understand how your content can work in the best possible way for users.  

What you'll bring 

Have a track record in creating outstanding, impactful content for user interfaces on web and mobile by using data.Have an understanding of user needs, usability and/or UX principles and how they work when applied to a range of products.Help your colleagues understand the importance and value of great content and can explain content design and processes clearly.

It’s probably not the job for you, if you: 

Specialise in snappy ad lines and marketing style copy– this is purely a product writing roleLove the idea of working with CMS content managementNeed a clear brief from management before you can start
