The University of Southampton is home to the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC), established in 2008. NETSCC manages evaluation research programmes and other research on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Wessex Institute staff are supported by a combination of centrally provided IT services and a locally-based Information Systems Team. We are currently seeking to appoint a candidate who will be able to utilise their current IT and end user support skills by joining this team in supporting a number of key specialist applications and functions, including the NETSCC research management system.

Exposure to Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook) is required for this role. Knowledge of systems and user acceptance testing, liaison with 3rd party software suppliers/ supplier management, experience of video conferencing facilities and some exposure to hardware fault resolution would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be required to provide front line systems support to end users, accurately logging and prioritising support calls and providing solutions to reported issues. They may also be required to undertake training of end users in online system usage and desktop applications to help enable the provision of a 1st class service to our customers.

The post is expected to be full time, but flexible working may be considered for the right candidate(s).
