We currently have an exciting opportunity for someone with the right combination of professional and academic skills to join our undergraduate fashion branding and communications team. The role will suit an experienced academic looking to advance their career and demonstrate subject and course leadership abilities. International applicants are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be expected in the first instance to take a significant role in the management and delivery of our BA Fashion Branding and Communications course. Main Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will; play a lead role within the School contributing to School policies and initiatives contribute to  the smooth running and delivery of an undergraduate course contribute to student and staff development maintain and improve academic standards develop the course profile nationally and internationally Skills and Experience You should have a post-graduate or research degree in a fashion related discipline and substantive experience of working in the Higher Education sector. Evidence of academic leadership and team working is essential. We would expect the post holder to have the following technical knowledge and skills: Essential Skills Knowledge and understanding of fashion branding and communication practices Practical skills relating to one or more fashion media practices, for example social media, journalism, art direction, styling, photography, illustration Ability to lead on aspects of subject and course development and delivery Supervision and assessment of academic writing and student research Excellent report writing and presentation skills Desirable Skills Enterprise and entrepreneurship Industry liaison and collaboration International networking and collaboration Student recruitment With around 24,000 students from 80 countries, Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study.
