Description :

You will join our European project Plasmoniac that will require you to collaborate on the mask design, process development and fabrication of silicon nitride based photonic components. You will join our growing team of over 40 researchers focusing on the field of Silicon Photonics, based within the state-of-the-art Zepler Institute Cleanroom Facilities (http://www.zeplerinstitute.com/facilities) at the University of Southampton, UK. The project will be under the supervision of Dr Frederic Gardes. 

To be successful you will have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualification and experience in semi conductor processing or integrated photonics. It is also essential that you are able to demonstrate a strong semiconductor process development background and experience of device fabrication in a clean room environment. Experience in silicon nitride processing is critical.

*Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

This post is Part time fixed term up to 6 months in duration.
