The University of Nottingham has a great leadership opportunity for two experienced and enthusiastic librarians to join our Customer Services section. You will be part of a small senior team, with three Senior Librarians in total, committed to delivering consistently excellent customer service across seven libraries. You will lead a large team of staff and contribute directly to both the operational and strategic development of a wide range of services.

Services include a comprehensive frontline help and enquiry service, a wide range of lending services, interlibrary loans, laptop loans, print, copy and scan services, shelving and book delivery across sites. The role also includes responsibility for the relevant library buildings in terms of access management, security, physical condition and health and safety.

You will be responsible for the leadership and motivation of your team, confidently engaging and supporting them through the development of our service. You will also have responsibility for some services across all our libraries. We work collaboratively across the section, department and University to ensure that services develop efficiently and consistently, and excellent communication is maintained. There is a lot of variety within the role, including projects to review and improve our service. You can expect to make a significant contribution to our strategic review and development in line with the teaching, learning and research priorities of the University.

As our ideal candidate you will have a degree and relevant library qualification, significant relevant library experience and the ability to prioritise complex demands under pressure. You will be able to lead and engage a large team, and build positive working relationships with both colleagues and customers so that we can deliver the best service possible. You will share our ethos that we Aspire to be WISE: Welcoming, Inspiring, Supporting Everyone.
