About the role

Your primary role is to work closely with the TEL Educational Software Development Manager and the TEL team to support the technical development and maintenance of a robust and resilient virtual environment that underpins the University’s teaching practices. Your role will also focus on the support and development of Moodle, which is the University’s Virtual Learning Environment. In addition, you would also be working closely with our Digital, Data and Technology Group.

About you

Ideally you should be able to demonstrate:

Strong technical expertise, including exceptional object-orientated programming skills (PHP)A commitment and aptitude to learning new programming and technical skills as required (with appropriate support)Proven experience to work with others successfully to deliver software development projectsIdeally, be able demonstrate a portfolio of previous developments, ideally situated within a HE contextExcellent communication skills and be able to present complex ideas to a non-technical audienceExperience of working with HE systems, open-source software and VLEs would be advantageous.
