Description :

The School of Health Sciences at Birmingham City University is seeking an experienced HCPC registered Physiotherapist to provide 12 months’ maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Faculty as part of a period of unprecedented growth and development. Birmingham City University has invested £41 Million in a purpose built development at the City South Campus in Edgbaston, which has enabled the University to offer a wide range of new allied health, life science and sports courses.

The School has developed a range of pre-registration Allied Health Professions programmes at post-graduate level, including MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration). We are seeking a candidate with excellent clinical experience in the field of respiratory and rehabilitation /neurology. Your role will be pivotal in the delivery of this new programme, working closely with local/regional employers, students and other key stakeholders to support students to be prepared for professional practice in the dynamic healthcare environment. You will also be involved in the support of clinical educators and students at clinical placement sites, and so the role will include clinical visits. In addition you will contribute to the School, Faculty and University’s strategic priorities and to inter-professional learning within the faculty.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about excellent patient care, teaching and research, and who can inspire their students. Experience of teaching and assessing at Masters level is desirable but not essential, as is an ability to work externally with employers and professional bodies. You must be able to demonstrate evidence of on-going continued professional development and ideally be engaged in research activity.
