The Department of Criminology and Sociology is situated within the School of Social Sciences and is home to a diverse and multi-disciplinary team and has a track record of success in research, knowledge exchange, teaching and public engagement.  

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team providing the BA (Hons) in Black Studies, the first degree of its kind in Europe.  The successful applicant will be required to teach across our portfolio of Black Studies degrees including BA (Hons) Black Studies; BA (Hons) Black Studies (Criminal Justice) and MA in Black Studies. Alongside teaching, assessing and supporting students on Black Studies modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level, the successful candidate will be expected to assume responsibility for the co-ordination and development of this suite of programmes.

 

Candidates should be in possession of a PhD in a relevant subject, have experience of teaching within Higher Education, be actively involved in research (with a proven track record of publications), knowledge transfer and/or professional practice, and be able to contribute to one of our Research Centres within the School of Social Sciences.
