The Department of Criminology and Sociology is situated within the School of Social Sciences and is home to a diverse and multi-disciplinary team and has a track record of success in research, knowledge exchange, teaching and public engagement.  

 

The advertised position is an exciting opportunity to join an established and innovative provider of Sociology and Black Studies programmes.  The successful applicant will be required to teach across our portfolio of Sociology degrees.  As well as teaching, assessing and supporting students on Sociology modules at foundation and undergraduate level, an ability to contribute to the development of our provision in the areas of Youth and Community and/or Sociology and Urban Studies would be desirable.  Furthermore, the candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in research, scholarship and/or knowledge-transfer activities, and contribute to one of our Research Centres within the School of Social Sciences.  

 

Candidates should possess a first and higher degree in a relevant subject area, and if not already in possession of a doctorate qualification, candidates should be close to completion, pending viva/examination within the next 6 months.
