Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out teaching and research exploring contemporary approaches to writing for performance? Do you have an excellent research record and proven success obtaining funding? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

As Lecturer in Writing for Performance you will be involved in the full range of activities including research, teaching and management and will lead the development of creative and critical approaches to writing for performance within the School of Performance and Cultural Industries. You will contribute to the development of a new vision for the school’s existing MA programme in Writing for Performance and Publication and will make an active contribution to the undergraduate programme BA in Theatre and Performance according to your specialism. 

You will have a strong track record of producing high quality research outputs and of attracting funding to support your developing research agenda. You will be expected to undertake the normal range of duties that arises in connection with the teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including lecturing, tutorials, seminar/workshop delivery, dissertation supervision, and assessment. You will serve as a committed personal tutor and be able and willing to support undergraduates and postgraduates effectively throughout their time at University. You will also have the opportunity to supervise Research Postgraduate Students.

With relevant research and teaching experience and a PhD in a field related to writing for performance, you will have the ability to make an outstanding contribution to the dynamic research life of the School and you will be passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience.
