An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Research Support Officer to oversee a BNP Paribas-funded project BIOCLIMATE project on climate-affected and human-modified Amazonian forests in the Santarém region of Brazil. 

You will have experience of project management in tropical forest landscapes, preferably Amazonia, and an ability to read, speak and write in Portuguese and English. Experience of administering, processing and reporting project finances is desirable.  

You will join a vibrant tropical research group at Lancaster Environment Centre, and will communicate regularly with members of the Sustainable Amazon Network (rasnetwork.org) and other researchers in France and Brazil. You will also be expected to liaise with key stakeholders in Brazil, including reserve managers, farmers, farming syndicates, and indigenous groups. You will coordinate project meetings and report writing for the funding agency. 

You will be self-motivated, collaborative and hold strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently is also essential.
