The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1100 people and provide a wide range of services across our U.K sites.

An experienced Mechanical Compliance Manager is required to join the newly formed Estates and Facilities Compliance Team to provide expert advice and guidance in relation to mechanical services and infrastructure compliance across the University Estate including lifts and lifting equipment, heating and ventilation systems, LEV systems, pressure vessels and gas supply systems. The successful candidate will manage the internal audit and monitoring programme ensuring the Estates and Facilities Department comply with statutory legislation and will work closely with the University Health and Safety Office to carry out inspections and implement actions following external audits. You will also be required to write reports and present findings to the Estates Senior Management team. Line management responsibilities for the Departments Mechanical Compliance Engineer are also part of this role.

Candidates should be educated to degree level, ideally in a Science Engineering or Facilities related subject plus have extensive experience in a relevant specialist area; OR have a proven track record or relevant work experience which demonstrates specialised knowledge in Mechanical Engineering. You should also have experience of leading change and making recommendations for implementing new policies and procedures and have excellent influencing and problem solving skills. Excellent IT and report writing skills are also essential for this post.

This post is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week) Job share arrangements may be considered.
