The University of Nottingham is seeking experienced intellectual property professionals to join the existing Technology Transfer Office team. Roles will be focussed on licensing in the fields of Engineering and Physical Sciences or Life Sciences.

Based within the Licensing team in the University’s Technology Transfer Office and reporting into the Director of IP, responsibilities will include provision of IP-related advice and all aspects of the commercialisation of IP pathway from taking new disclosures through to post-licensing management

Appointees will be able to draw on support from other members of the IP Licensing team in identification of new IP and undertaking IP due diligence, with patent prosecution and legal support being provided by the IP management team. Spin-out company growth and development is managed by Nottingham Technology Ventures Ltd and the roles will also entail working collaboratively with colleagues from NTV on pre-incorporation projects. In-house translational funds and KE training and development courses academic staff are also managed through the Nottingham Impact Accelerator within the TTO.

It should be noted that these are primarily practitioner roles and appointees will be expected to demonstrate an increase in both the volume and value of deal flow. 

Candidates will be qualified to at least graduate level in a relevant discipline, ideally have a relevant higher degree and have demonstrable experience of commercialising intellectual property in academia or industry. They should be highly self-motivated and possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

This position is available on a permanent, full-time (36.25 hours per week) basis, however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 21.75 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time and the number of preferred hours.
