Description :

Do you want to work for an internationally recognised University? Do you want to work in a complex database environment and gain exposure to cutting edge technologies? Then look no further!

We are seeking a self-motivated, proactive and experienced individual to join our Digital, Data and Technology group. A natural problem solver with a passion for always improving you will be part of the team leading on the operational and day-to-day management of all functional areas for corporate applications and databases. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the integrity and availability of all centralised University corporate databases and associated applications that support the University’s research, teaching and professional services.

With an always learning mindset you will apply in-depth technical expertise to resolve complex problems, generate innovative ideas, drive service improvements and support/develop the relevant strategic, tactical or operational projects.

You will be involved in all phases of the development of new services, maintenance of current systems, changes and system upgrades, using requisite functional and technical expertise in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will contribute significantly to third-tier support processes, resolving problems, documenting root causes and improving service levels.

We are looking to make significant changes to our database environment and want you to work alongside our data and enterprise architects to understand where efficiencies can be made and leverage benefits from newer technologies (eg. Azure). You would still need to support existing technologies, so experience in Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL databases and server operating systems (such as Solaris, Red Hat, Ubuntu and Windows Server) would be an advantage.

Please note this is a full-time role (36.5 hours, 1FTE) for one-year fixed term.
