You will be joining a successful and dynamic team who, through a continued commitment to research and teaching excellence, strive to maximise students’ potential as future specialists of their subject. We are therefore seeking to appoint a highly motivated, innovative and effective practitioner who is keen to promote academic studies in education across the school and beyond. You should be able to demonstrate a passion for teaching and students’ learning, and be able to offer a clear rationale for your pedagogy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students to develop subject knowledge and teaching skills, sharing both practical expertise and relevant scholarship with students as education studies specialist. At Senior Lecturer grade you will be expected to take on coordination and / or leadership roles within the School of Education on arrival.

You will possess a good (normally a 1st or 2:1) undergraduate degree preferably in an education studies subject area, and ideally hold a relevant postgraduate qualification (PGCert/EYITT/PGCE/MA/PhD), an equivalent level of professional experience or evidence of a commitment to obtaining a relevant higher degree/professional qualification. The applicant will - depending on individual profile - contribute to a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and work-related programmes. 

Programmes are delivered across the full calendar year and can involve some work on evenings and Saturdays.  The successful candidate will be expected to travel to partner schools and settings supporting students’ professional learning in collaboration with a range of professionals from these placements.

Due to the nature of this post a DBS check will be required.
